i guess this solution is wrong because we c an use this formula which is used in the foll owing solution of shift only when object an d observer are in same medium and in this question we are given that only observer an d slab are dipped in water that means objec t is in air only am i right An object is seen through a glass slab of thickness 35 cm and refractive index 3 2 The observer and the slab are dipped in water 4 3 The shift produced in the position of the object is OPTIONS O O A B 12 cm 4 cm Solution Here the observer is not in air the surroundings for slab is water Thus shift produced for object position 14 S S 36 1 or S 36 3 S 36 3 28 36 cm 100 36 4 cm
