A class survey in a large first-year college class asked "About how many minutes do you study on a typical weeknight?" The mean response of the 269 students was x = 127 minutes. Suppose we know that study time follows a Normal distribution with standard deviation o = 65 minutes in the population of all first-year students at this aved hiversity. Regard these students as an SRS from the population of all first-year students at this university. Does the study give good evidence at the 1% level that students claim to study more than 2 hours per night on the average? (Hint: you need to state null and alternative hypotheses in terms of the population mean study time in minutes, find the value of the test stic z, and calculate the P- value.)
