At two different points in time, you smell two distinctly

At two different points in time, you smell two distinctly different odors. How do your olfactory sensory neurons and their connected sensory pathways distinguish between the two different odors? Only one sensory neuron dedicated to each odor will activate at a time. Different sets of glomeruli will activate for different odors. Each odor detected has its own unique receptor potential strength it creates that can be interested by the olfactory control center in the brain.
