JEE Main 2021 Registration Process, Dates, Fees, Eligibility

NTA commence JEE Main Registration for February 2021 session from December 16, 2020. These registrations close on 16th January, 2021.

NTA made a big decision that JEE Mains will be conducted four times a year from 2021. Check complete details below.

NTA conducts JEE Mains 2021 in Hindi, English and Gujarati. In addition to this, paper will be prepared in Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu as well.

Mode of JEE Main Examination

JEE (Main) 2021 Examination will be held in “Computer Based Test” (CBT) Mode only, except that the Drawing Test for B.Arch. Will be held in “Pen & Paper” (offline) mode.

Timings of JEE Mains Exam

  • B.E./B.Tech.– Shift 1 from 9am to 12pm and shift 2 from 3pm to 6 pm.
  • B.Arch.– Shift 1 from 9am to 12pm and shift 2 from 3pm to 6 pm.
  • B.Planning– Only one shift from 3pm to 6 pm.

JEE Mains New Exam Paper Pattern

B.E./B.Tech.

This paper includes three subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.

Each Subject will have two sections – section A and B. Firstly, section A will contain 20 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and section B will contain 10 questions whose answers are numerical values. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.

B.Arch.

This paper includes Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing Test.

Mathematics will have two sections – section A and B. Section A will contain 20 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). Furthermore, Section B will contain 10 questions whose answers are numerical values. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B. Moving on to Aptitude Test. It contains 50 MCQs and no numerical type questions. Drawing Test contains 2 questions only.

B.Planning

This paper includes Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Planning based questions.

Mathematics will have two sections – section A and B. Section A will contain 20 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). Furthermore, Section B will contain 10 questions whose answers are numerical values. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B. Furthermore, Aptitude Test contains 50 MCQs and Planning based questions contains 25 MCQs.

Eligibility Criteria to Fill JEE Main Application Form 2021?

1) Age Limit

  • There is no age limit to appear in JEE Mains 2021.

2) Number of Attempts

  • Candidates can participate in JEE for 3 consecutive years.
  • Sitting for one or more sessions in a year is one attempt.
  • Thus, if JEE continuous four times a year, candidates can give twelve papers.

3) Educational Qualification

  • Students who passed 10+2 or equivalent exam in 2019, 2020 or appearing in 2021 are eligible for applying in JEE Mains 2021.
  • For B.Planning, the candidates should pass the qualifying examination with 50 % marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in aggregate of the qualifying examination.
  • It is essential for B.E/ B.Tech applicants to pass the 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Along with this, one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subject chosen.
  • It is essential for B.Arch applicants to pass the 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
